Summary of some of the changes in the 2005 revised unform instructions from new
CC Personnel Manual: CCPM26.3, Instructions 1, 4, 5, 7
 
  • Summer Blue and Summer Khaki uniforms have become Service Blue and Service Khaki uniforms.
• Field Utility Uniform (FUU) has become Battle Dress Uniform (BDU)
• Within the BDU instructions, two new Public Health Service (PHS) components are authorized:
       (1) PHS ball cap, command
       (2) Undershirt
            -- Black with gold PHS seal on front and ‘U.S. Public Health Service’ lettering on back
            -- Olive lettering for tactical situations when authorized
• Slacks are now a basic option for all female uniforms, including Formal Dress and Dinner Dress Jacket uniforms
• Summer White uniform is added to the required uniforms for officers along with Service Dress Blue and Working Khaki
• Polyester/wool fabric has been added to the Working Khaki uniform as an option.
• Fabric chart for uniform components is included in CC Personnel Manual CC26.3, Instruction 1
Photographs of officers in uniform have replaced the sketches used in the replaced INSTRUCTIONs.
• Officers’ appearances updated
    -- Grooming standards (hair, tattoos/body piercing/jewelry, mutilations, dental ornamentation)
    -- Articles (electronic devices, pagers, cellular phones, bags, backpacks, laptop cases)
